What Siding Replacement Involves

Siding failure doesn't happen all at once. You'll notice soft spots where moisture got behind the boards, color fading that won't wash off, cracks that split wider each season, or gaps where boards have warped. By the time those signs show up, water is already working behind the surface. A full replacement tears the old material off, inspects the sheathing underneath, fixes any damage the old siding hid, and installs new boards or panels properly sealed and fastened.

We work with two materials. Fiber cement holds up in Fort Worth heat and handles hail better than wood or vinyl alone—it's dense, won't rot, and doesn't warp. Vinyl costs less and works well on newer construction where the frame is square and solid. Both need correct installation: flashing at windows and doors, proper nailing, staggered seams, and the right overlap so water sheds away instead of collecting behind the wall.

Our crew leads have been with us over five years. That matters on siding work because the installation has to be precise—a sloppy tear-off leaves sheathing soft and the new install will fail early. We do our own work, no subs, so the same people planning the job are the ones executing it.

The process

How Your Siding Replacement Works

  1. 01

    Inspection and planning

We walk your house, check all four sides, look at trim, windows, doors, and where the siding meets the roof. We'll tell you if we find any sheathing damage behind the existing material and map out material quantities and seams before we start.

  2. 02

    Tear-off and prep

Old siding comes off. We inspect the sheathing underneath and repair soft spots or rot. We check flashings at windows and doors and replace any that are damaged or bent.

  3. 03

    Installation

New material goes up with the correct fastening pattern, overlap, and flashing detail. We seal windows and doors so water can't back up behind the new siding.

  4. 04

    Cleanup and final walkthrough

All debris comes off the property. We show you the work, point out any choices we made on the job, and answer questions about care and maintenance.

Fiber Cement vs. Vinyl—What to Expect

  • Fiber cement is harder and more durable in Texas heat; it resists hail impact better and won't fade or warp
  • Fiber cement costs more upfront but lasts longer with less maintenance
  • Vinyl is lighter to install and works well on newer homes where framing is already square
  • Vinyl is easier to clean and repair individual boards if one gets damaged
  • Both materials, when installed right, will shed water and keep your walls dry for years

What Fort Worth Homeowners Say

Hail took out half the neighborhood. Marco had a crew on my roof in four days when everyone else quoted three weeks.

Questions

Siding Replacement Questions

How long does a full siding replacement take?
It depends on house size and how much sheathing damage we find. Most homes take three to five days once we start. Tear-off and prep usually take the longest.
Can you install new siding over the old material?
We don't recommend it. Old siding hides problems behind the walls—rot, moisture damage, blown insulation. A proper replacement means taking it all off so we can see what we're building on and fix it right.
What's the difference between DIY repair and full replacement?
Patching a few boards might work if the damage is small and the rest of the siding is solid. Full replacement is the right call when you have widespread rot, warping across the house, or moisture issues behind the walls.
Do you work with vinyl and fiber cement equally well?
Yes. We install both materials to the same standard—correct fastening, flashing, sealing, and overlap. Your choice should be based on budget, your home's age, and how much maintenance you want to do.
Are you licensed and bonded to do siding work in Fort Worth?
Yes. We're licensed under TX RCAT 14-2291, insured, and bonded. We carry a workmanship warranty on all siding installations.
